SUBMOTION ORCHESTRA (Exceptional Records/Ranking)A year after their March 2011 sell out tour, live 7 piece dubstep band Submotion Orchestra return to Exeter. When the arts council commissioned a live dubstep piece in York Minster (cathedral), a group of Leeds music scene luminaries created the Submotion Orchestra. All trained jazz and classical musicians, their influences include jazz, dub, funk, soul and drum & bass. They've been compared to Massive Attack and Cinematic Orchestra, and have had full support from the likes of Giles Peterson and countless other Radio 1 djs.After the success of their highly acclaimed debut album "Finest Hour", last month they released a remix album, featuring reworks from Goth Trad, Jack Sparrow, Phaeleh, Synkro, Planas and more.After selling out the Cavern for us last year, we're moving up to a larger venue this year, putting on our first night in Timepiece's main room.
